Jeffrey “Jeffro” Louis
to represent Team USA, Houston,
& Mezclada at the Olympics!
Mezclada is extremely honored to support Principal Dancer, Jeffrey Louis, as he paves his way into history! Louis is one of sixteen B-boys to compete in the Olympic Games as Breaking debuts onto the world stage.
Louis not only represents USA but represents Mezclada and our mission as it inspires his competitive approach.
“I’m literally a blend of what’s around me, my melting pot environment inspires my own creative style and influence.” - Louis
Louis attributes much of his style to his upbringing in Houston, one of the most diverse cities in the nation. “I’m around a lot of Hispanics and African Americans, I’m pulling from different roots. Hip Hop, Salsa, Merengue, even Bachata influence my style and creativity.” Louis’ performance in Olympic qualifiers has demonstrates just how far an inclusive style and mindset can take you. The leading factor to Louis’ success?
“On top of everything, having fun with it is the major factor.”
Aguilera to Join Louis in Paris
Artistic Director, Joel Aguilera, will also represent Team USA as the Olympic Coach for Louis. The two have been competing in the breaking circuit together for over a decade and are members of Houston’s very own breaking collective, RAD crew.
Aguilera has been assisting and coaching Louis the past three years as Louis has been securing this spot in the Olympic through national and global qualifiers.
Louis and Aguilera are set to head to Paris this July to wrap up their training to set up Louis for his final battle on August 10th, 2024.
