THE EACH ONE TEACH ONE SHOW
THE “EACH ONE TEACH ONE SHOW” displays the variety of dance styles within Hip Hop culture including breakdancing, popping, locking,& more! Catch this performance during Children’s Museum Free Family Night Thursday. Thursday are FREE admission 5pm - 9pm. Catch our performance at 6:30pm at the Alcove at the end of the main hall. This performance was made possible by Dance Source Houston’s Groundwork Grant and Houston Arts Alliance Let Creativity Happen Grant.

Teaching Residency at Principia College
Catch up with Directors Joel & Lizzy Aguilera as they offer classes for students all week long! Mezclada will be offering an array of classes from breaking to jazz to salsa and will even teach some repertoire! Follow Principia scheduling for more details on times and locations.
DanceSource PT Dance Exchange
Dancers Jeffro & Joel took part in DanceSource Houstons PT Dance Exchange today to talk on and demonstrate Breaking! 🔥 This was a performance tailored to educate physical therapists from the Memorial Herman Rocket Sports Medicine Program on the regimen, movement, and injuries in a variety of dance styles.
Prelude - Step Afrika
Mezclada will be presenting “Mezclada Hip Hop Show” as the prelude to Step Afrika! at the Wortham Theater Center in Houston, TX. Prelude will begin promptly at 6:45pm CST.
WORLDWINDS @ CHELSEA FACTORY: ARTURO O'FARRILL + AFRO LATIN JAZZ ORCHESTRA
“Worldwinds” is a dynamic collaborative performance, bringing together Arturo O’Farrill and his multi-GRAMMY® winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (ALJO) with Mezclada Dance Company, Ayodele Casel, and Music From The Sole. A dialogue of music and movement between contemporary street and percussive dance with afro Latin jazz. “Worldwinds” premieres at The Chelsea Factory in New York March 24th and 25th.

All of the Above Dance Concert
All of the Above is a new evening-length dance work presented by Mezclada Dance Company this coming January 12th & 13th at the MATCH Houston at 7:30pm. All of the Above not only represents the diversity of Houston arts audiences but celebrates unison within diversity by fusing an untraditional combination of dance styles, cultures, and music including breakdancing, modern, Latin jazz, salsa, and hip hop. This project is funded by Houston Arts Alliance, Dance Source Houston, and BANF.
Community Class at the PAC
Join us for a special community class at the PAC Dance Studio. This community class offers two hours of instruction for both Beginner/Intermediate levels as well as Intermediate/Advance. Classes lined up for Beg/Int. include Jazz Funk and Hip Hop while the the Int/Adv. will be offering Contemporary Floor work and House. To join in on the Holiday spirit, this event will be tied to a Toy and Clothes Drive to be donated to those in need!
Community Class at U of H
Join us for another class Tuesday, November 8th at 10am! This class is open to all students who are currently enrolled at the University of Houston. In this FREE class you can expect to learn repertoire choreography form our upcoming dance concert “All of the Above” which premieres this January!
Community Class at Knowbreaks
Join us for our community class at Knowbreaks. All classes are FREE and open to all levels. This event includes Fitbreak Workout 10am-10:45am, Breaking Powermoves/Freezes 10:45-11:30, and Footwork Technique & Tips from 11:30-12. Classes are then followed by a one hour open session from 12 to 1pm that will be facilitated by both Mezclada and Knowbreak Instructors.
April 16th Community Event
Mezclada has decided to kick off our first month of community classes with a second pop up class! This event will host Houston’s up and coming dance & fitness program FITBREAK! FITBREAK is a full body workout incorporating hip hop dance and is suitable for all ages! Bring a friend or two to join in on the fun. It’s free after all so the more the merrier! This class is followed by an hour of facility space open for dancing, practicing, and working out! We hope to see you all there at Garage 713 Studio, April 16th from 4-6pm.
April 1st Community Class
Mezclada is launching our series of our FREE Monthly Mezclada Dance Classes. Our April class will be hosted at Westside High School Friday, April 1st!! Both classes will be going on from 4:30pm - 5:30pm 🔥 We are having breaking with Joel Aguilera and flamenco with Jessica Figueroa 💯 don’t worry - no matter what level you believe yourself to be, these classes are open to all levels! HUGE shoutout to Inertia Dance Company at Westside High School for hosting the space and we can’t wait to have you all attend! Stay tuned for more details on the classes and feel free to ask any questions if you have any. We can’t wait to see you there!!!
Principia College Halloween Festival
Catch Mezclada Dance Company and dancers from surrounding schools and studios of the St. Louis and Alton area come together and perform in the (not so secret) Halloween Festival Flashmob. This event is free and open to all ages! Event is all day Saturday, October 30th. Flash mob will be performed between 11am-12:30pm
DanceMakers
Mezclada Dance Company premiered their newest work La Danza Del Fuego in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukees School of Theatre and Dance “DanceMakers” Production. This work can be found in the “Media” tab.
Texas Latino/a/x Contemporary Dance Festival
Mezclada Dance Company presented one repertoire work Mezclada and premiered two new works, At First Glance and Pedacitos in the First Annual Texas Latino/a/x Contemporary Dance Festival produced by Pilot Dance Project in Houston, Texas. These works can be found in the “Media” tab.
The Nutcracker Party
Members of Mezclada Dance Company starred, choreographed, and performed in Dance Houston’s Amazon Production “The Nutcracker Party”. This production contains choreography from Joel Aguilera and Jeffrey Louis and performances from Joel Aguilera, Jessica Figueroa, Jeffrey Louis, and Lizzy Woodson. Barnstorm Dance Fest 2020
Founder and Artistic Director Joel Aguilera ended his Artist in Residence with Dance Source Houston for the 2019-2020 season by presenting his work with Mezclada Dance Company, Mezclada. This 20 minute worked was condensed to a five minute dance film due to the pandemic. This work can be found in the “Media” tab.
Mind The Gap 13.0
Founder and Artistic Director Joel Aguilera performed his solo Maduro at Dance Source Houston’s Mind The Gap 13.0. This work originally premiered as the sole performance of the University of Houston’s College of the Art’s Commencement when Aguilera graduated with his BFA.
16th Celebration of Dance
Mezclada performed their work Rasa in Dance Houston’s “16th Celebration of Dance” alongside several of the most recognized dance companies in the City of Houston.
